A vast, wild beach on Fuerteventura's remote southern peninsula, reached by a rough dirt track through the Jandía natural park. Cofete is as much a scenic destination as a surf spot: miles of empty sand backed by dramatic mountains, with almost no development in sight.

The beach's exposure means it can hold serious size and power when swell is running, but the currents and shore-break here are genuinely strong, and the remoteness means help is far away if something goes wrong. This is not a casual beginner's beach, whatever the size on a given day.

A scenic crowd-free option on Fuerteventura's rugged coastline, where the swell picks up a lot of energy but consistent size is never quite guaranteed. Punta del Tigre offers a quiet alternative to the busier North Track when you're willing to trade certainty for solitude.

Watch out for heavier days, when the exposed position can turn genuinely powerful with little warning. Come on a clean swell, check conditions carefully first, and enjoy one of the island's less crowded corners.

Los Lobos

A small protected island just off Corralejo, reachable by ferry or glass-bottom boat, with its own uncrowded reef breaks away from the mainland's busier North Track. Los Lobos offers a genuine escape, waves shared with far fewer people than anywhere on Fuerteventura proper.

The island's protected status keeps development minimal, adding to the sense of getting away from it all. Come prepared with your own gear and food, facilities are minimal, and enjoy one of the most peaceful surf settings in the Canaries.
