Sidi Ifni is an old Spanish colonial town with art deco buildings, on the coast south of Tiznit. There are beach and reef breaks in front of the town, including a right over reef.

Most of the surf comes from groundswell, and it's fairly consistent through the winter. On smaller days the beach suits beginners. It's a quiet, cheap place to stay for a while.

Getting to Sidi Ifni and around Aglou & Sidi Ifni

Agadir (AGA) is the airport. Tiznit is about 1.5 hours south, and Sidi Ifni another hour beyond.

  • Rental car ($25-40/day): The only practical way to reach Tifnit, Aglou and the empty beaches. Fill up in Tiznit; some villages have no fuel.
  • CTM / Supratours bus ($5-10): Intercity buses along the N1 and the coast road. Buses don't stop at the beaches; you'll need a taxi for the last part.
  • Grand taxi ($3-15): Shared taxis between the towns. They leave when full; mornings are busiest.
