A protected natural beach reserve near Tapia, reached by a short walk through dune and marsh habitat that keeps development, and crowds, well away. Barayo breaks over sand in open, exposed peaks, picking up the same reliable western Asturian swell as Tapia with a fraction of the visitors.
Its protected status means no beachfront buildings or car parks encroach on the sand, just a genuinely wild, unspoiled stretch of coast backed by low dunes and grassland. The walk in adds a small barrier that keeps the crowd naturally thin, even on a good day.
